My name is Ryan Nicotri and I am 24 years old. I graduated in the top 10% of my graduating class with a degree in Finance at Bryant University in Smithfield Rhode Island. Growing up I excelled in sports, mainly Baseball, football and basketball. I was on varsity all 4 years of High school as the starting shortstop and captain my last 2 years. I received a scholarship to play at Bryant however decided to focus on my studies once in school.

I am a very motivated person, working full time since the age of 15. I started working for a landscape company where I quickly proved my hard work and proficient skill and became the foreman at the age of 17. I continued to work this job throughout college going home on the weekends to make extra money. Once in college I applied and received a job working in the finance/accounting department of U.P.S. at their regional headquarters in Norwood. I worked their Monday, Wednesday, Friday full days to build on my resume and have money for my car loan and spending money through school. I did not have my parents pay my way through college, I graduated with student loans that I currently am paying for each month. Nearing the end of my college career I got a job at Ameriprise Financial as a Financial Advisor.

Starting April of 2007 I began studying to earn my Series 7, Series 66 and my life accident and health insurance licenses. During this time I became a student of the industry striving to earn the appropriate licenses. Alongside my studies I was able to spend time with successful advisors to become an understudy, all the while learning aspects of their business they were very organized and successful and areas they felt they needed improvement. It built a great foundation for me to open my own practice within Ameriprise by September of 2007. Fully licensed and months of mentoring I hit the ground running, exceeding the company's standards achieving Mercury Award. This is an award given to advisors who exceed expectations for the first 6 months of their practice opening.

This beginning and my motivation to succeed proved in building a great foundation to a successful business. I entered during the worst economic recession in over 50 years and my business thrived. I built my business based on the client and advisor relationship. I have a great personality and developed great strategies to build trust with potential clients and subsequent clients. I have truly enjoyed building a financial planning practice, it has brought on many new opportunities, relationships and taught me a great lesson on how to deal with my own finances for the rest of my life. This position has taught me how to run a business successfully, it has also taught me how to plan both from a personal and business aspect the finances in a conservative yet effective strategy.

My goal in life is to become an entrepreneur, I am currently exploring options in building and developing a real estate development firm along with a business partner. Together we will begin the company through assigning real estate contracts to potential developers. After effectively building our net-worth and assets within the company we will begin developing our own unique portfolio of properties.

I have enjoyed building a successful financial planning practice, my true dream is to run another successful company within the real estate industry as well. I am motivated and will be successful, I am young and ambitious and have the time now to build on my career and outside of those hours take beginning steps on building the framework of the corporation to ultimately run a family owned development company.
